Product Description
The Ludwig Universal 14"x6.5" is a snare drum finished in walnut, built on a beech shell with an outer ply of exotic sapele. The construction, featuring tube lugs and triple flange hoops, delivers a full, warm tone with excellent tuning range, while an 18-strand snare wire set adds crisp, controlled response.
The shell is built from 6 plies of beech, 7.5 mm, with an outer ply of exotic sapele that gives the drum its distinctive walnut finish and a warm, round fundamental tone. The triple flange hoops work together with the slim tube lugs to produce a classic, resonant sound suited to nearly any musical setting.
The snare mechanism is a P88i throw-off paired with a P35 butt plate, and the snare wires feature 18 strands for clear, easily controlled snare response. The drum is designed to fit into nearly any drum kit, regardless of playing style.
