Product Description
The Universal Mahogany is a snare drum from Ludwig built around a mahogany shell, made for drummers who want a warm, full core tone with plenty of dynamic range. Part of Ludwig's Universal series, it's designed to fit into nearly any drum set.
The shell is built from 6 plies of 7.5 mm mahogany with maple re-rings, which add stability and give the drum a round, warm low end. Triple flange hoops and tube lugs round out a classic look while helping the drum hold its tuning. The snare mechanism uses a P88i throw-off and a P35 butt plate, paired with 18-strand snare wires that give an articulate, sensitive response for lighter playing and subtle dynamic control.
