The Santana Africa Speaks is Latin Percussion's signature conga made in collaboration with Carlos Santana, built from solid Siam Oak with a 3-ply shell reinforced with a fiberglass layer at the shell bores and internal reinforcement pins. The 11 3/4" conga features a hand-selected natural head and comes in the striking Vibrant Yellow Lacquer finish.

The shell is built from Siam Oak in 3 plies, with a reinforced fiberglass layer at the shell bores and internal reinforcement pins for extra stability and long-term durability. The head is a hand-selected natural head, mounted with classic Comfort Curve II tuning lugs (X Series profile) and 5/16" tension rods (LP2555). A classic tuning system without microphone tension rods.

Construction and hardware

The sideplates are the classic model (LP218), and the Conga Grip is the professional type (LP224) for a secure hold during transport and mounting. The mount bracket is the Classic Mount Bracket (type LP912), bored for up to 2 brackets. The hardware finish is chrome, and the conga ships with ProCare shell protectors.

Signature model

The Africa Speaks series was developed together with Carlos Santana and carries his name as part of the model's identity. A conga built for musicians who want the same tool found in Santana's own productions.
