Product Description
The Hembra 8 1/2" is the larger of the two bongo heads from Latin Percussion, giving the bongo drum a deep, full fundamental tone. The head is hand-selected from untanned buffalo hide and fits LP's Traditional and X Series bongo rims in the corresponding size.

Finding the right size
The hoop determines the outer diameter of the head, while the stated size refers to the crown diameter at the bearing edge, the effective diameter across the widest part of the shell. LP bongo heads have the same crown diameter regardless of hoop type. Sizes have been harmonized with Remo conga heads to make matching easier. If your LP bongo has a shell diameter of 5 1/2", 7 1/4" or 8 5/8", choose a head in size 5 1/4", 7" or 8.5" respectively, not the same figure as the shell diameter.
