Product Description
The LP274A is a Hand Picked conga head for 11" Quinto congas from Latin Percussion, made from untanned buffalo hide for a warm, traditional tone. Each head is hand selected to meet a higher standard, and it's built for LP's Z Series and Top Tuning hoops with extended collar.
Latin Percussion has been crafting congas, bongos and other percussion instruments for professional musicians for over half a century, and the Hand Picked line is their premium tier of heads.
Construction
The head is made from untanned buffalo hide, approximately 1.5 mm thick, with a head height of approximately 33 mm when new. It's designed to fit all LP Z Series and Top Tuning conga hoops with extended collar in the corresponding size, listed as an "LP27" head.
Fit note
The hoop determines the head's outer diameter, while the size determines the crown diameter at the bearing edge. If the crown diameter is the same, the outer diameter of an "LP26/M26" head is always 9.5 mm smaller than the outer diameter of an "LP27" conga head like this one. Make sure to order the correct hoop type for your drum.
