Product Description
The Matador Whiskey Barrel Tumba from Latin Percussion is a 12.5" conga with a 3-ply pine shell and a natural head, built for classic hand percussion with a warm, deep tone. The classic Spannhaken tuning system and Matador Soft Strike hoops (Comfort Curve I) provide a comfortable grip and reliable tuning.
- 3-ply pine shell for a warm, resonant tone
- Natural head with good responsiveness
- Matador Soft Strike hoops (Comfort Curve I) for a gentle grip
- Classic Spannhaken tuning system
- Includes a mount bracket (Classic Mount Bracket, Type LPA426B)
Construction and Tuning
The shell is built from three layers of pine, giving a warm and full fundamental tone typical of Latin Percussion's Matador series. The tuning lugs are 5/16" (model M215), and the side plates (M218B) keep the tuning system stable during intense playing. Optional microphone tuning lugs (LP215M) are available if you want to mount a mic.
Handle and Mounting
The conga has a Matador handle (M224B) for easier handling and transport, plus an included Classic Mount Bracket (Type LPA426B) if you want to set it up on a stand.
Who It's For
A great choice for Latin percussion players who want a classically built tumba with genuine wood tone and reliable, traditional tuning hardware.
