Product Description
The Matador conga from Latin Percussion is an 11 3/4" conga finished in Whiskey Barrel, built on a 3-ply pine shell with a natural head. Matador Soft Strike hoops (Comfort Curve I) give a comfortable playing surface for hand technique, while the classic Spannhaken tuning system keeps the drum stable through long sessions.
The pine shell delivers a warm, full fundamental tone typical of congas used in Latin and Afro-Cuban music. The side plates (M218B) and Matador-style handle (M224B) are part of the same rugged hardware concept, making the drum equally at home on stage or in the rehearsal room.
The conga ships with a Classic Mount Bracket (Type LPA426B) for stand mounting, making it easy to integrate into a setup alongside other congas or a drum kit. Microphone tuning lugs (LP215M) are available as an optional upgrade for players who want to mic the drum directly.
