Product Description
The LP552X-DW is a tumba from Latin Percussion's Classic series, 12.5" in diameter with a shell built from Siam oak. It delivers the deep, full low end a tumba is built for, working well both as part of a full conga set and as a standalone bass voice in a percussion rig.

Construction and Tuning
The shell is built from three plies of Siam oak, reinforced with a fiberglass ply around the shell bores and internal steel reinforcement pins that keep the shell stable over time. The head is hand-selected natural rawhide, mounted with Comfort Curve II hoops (X Series profile) that give a gentle yet secure grip for the hands. Tuning is handled by the classic LP system: tuning lugs without built-in microphone function and 5/16" tension rods (LP2555), fitted in classic side plates (LP218).
Mounting and Hardware
The tumba ships with a Classic Mount Bracket (LP912) and is bored for up to two brackets with 1" hole spacing, making it flexible to mount in a larger setup. The handle is the professional model (LP224), and all hardware is chrome-plated. The shell edges are fitted with ProCare Shell Protectors.
