Latin percussion Brazilian Surdo LP3018 LP3020 LP3118 LP3120 Nauga 18" - Smooth White
Surdo head (Nauga) from Latin Percussion, 18" in Smooth White, gives a full, controlled tone. Double-layered with foam rubber against overtones.
Product Description
Original replacement head for LP's surdo drums, 18" in the light Smooth White finish with the LP logo. The batter head is made from Nauga material with a double-layer construction that filters out unwanted overtones, a technology developed specifically for Brazilian music.
The head fits the Surdo models LP3018, LP3020, LP3118 and LP3120, and is also available in 20" for larger surdo drums. The rim fit measures identical with Remo drum set heads in the corresponding size, so the head can be mounted without changing the hoop.
Nauga Technology
Nauga heads are double-layered: an outer layer of Mylar and an inner layer of black foam rubber, approximately 1 mm thick. The foam rubber layer filters out unwanted overtones, giving the surdo the full, controlled tone that Brazilian music requires. The construction is unique on the market. LP Rebolo, LP Pandeiro, LP Tantan and LP Surdo are all delivered with Nauga heads as standard.
The resonant head in the same series is instead made from Mylar, without the foam rubber layer.
Who It's For
A good choice if you play surdo in a samba group or batucada and want a batter head with the same controlled, focused tone as the original head, or if your old LP head needs replacing.
