Latin Percussion was founded in 1964 by Martin Cohen, a mechanical engineer from the Bronx who was captivated by the sound and energy of Latin jazz at New York's famous Birdland club. Since high-quality Cuban-made bongos were unavailable in the US due to trade embargoes, Cohen used his engineering skills to build his own set. The start of the brand. Since then, LP's range. Congas, bongos, cowbells, timbales, cajons, and shakers. Has been heard on thousands of the world's most famous recordings, from classic salsa to classic rock. Today, Latin Percussion is regarded as one of the world's leading percussion brands, still built around the needs of performing musicians.
