Latin percussion Batá Head Hand Picked for LP490-AWC, LP491-AWC, LP492-AWC 5" Onconcolo

Product Description

Hand-picked Batá head from Latin Percussion, made of untanned buffalo hide, designed for LP's 5" Onconcolo (LP490-AWC, LP491-AWC, LP492-AWC). The head is approximately 1 mm thick and delivers the authentic, traditional tone Batá drums are known for.

Latin Percussion was founded in 1964 by Martin Cohen and has since built percussion instruments used by professional musicians across genres, from classic salsa to rock. That heritage is reflected in details like this head.

Each head is individually hand-selected to ensure consistent quality and even tension across the surface. The material is untanned buffalo hide, and when new, the head stands approximately 33 mm high. LP's Batá drums use a specific, traditional hoop matched to this construction, so the head seats correctly and produces the right tonal character once mounted.

This product is a single Batá head only, not the drum or the hoop itself. It's a good choice if you need to replace the head on your Onconcolo and want the same authentic feel and tone as the original, rather than a generic replacement head.
