Batá head in untanned buffalo hide for Latin Percussion's 9" Itolele drum (LP490-AWC, LP491-AWC, LP492-AWC). The head is hand-selected for consistent quality, approximately 1 mm thick, with a height of approximately 33 mm when new.
Latin Percussion has crafted congas, bongos, cowbells, timbales and batá-related instruments since 1964 and is known for its careful selection of hide for its drumheads.
Material and construction
The head is made from untanned buffalo hide and hand-selected so that quality stays consistent across units. Thickness is approximately 1 mm, and height on a new head is approximately 33 mm. LP's Batá drums use a specific, traditional hoop, and the head is matched to that construction.
