This is ProMark's LA Special 7A in a more affordable second-grade batch – the same hickory stick at a lower price. The difference is purely cosmetic, not in playability.
The LA Special series is ProMark's classic all-round stick, made from hickory for a good balance of weight, rebound, and durability. This batch is sorted as seconds, meaning the sticks didn't fully pass the standard quality check for cosmetic reasons - usually a slight variation in the tip/bead appearance between sticks in a pair. Functionally, they're still fully usable drumsticks, just at a reduced price.
A solid choice if you want a dependable hickory stick for everyday practice or as a backup pair, without paying full price for flawless cosmetics.
