Vic Firth Joe Porcaro JPH5A
Product Description
The Joe Porcaro JPH5A is a signature drumstick in 5A size, developed together with American jazz drummer and percussionist Joe Porcaro. Its exclusive diamond-shaped tip gives a clean, bright cymbal sound and clear articulation on drums – a great choice if you want extra definition in your playing.
In the early 1980s, Vic Firth and Steve Gadd began developing what would become the first true signature drumstick – a genuine design collaboration between artist and maker. Every signature stick since has followed the same idea: putting the artist's personal touch into your hands. Joe Porcaro, a respected jazz drummer, percussionist, teacher and co-founder of the Los Angeles Music Academy, brought his own touch to the JPH5A with its exclusive diamond-shaped tip.
Sound and feel
The diamond-shaped wood tip gives a crisp, focused attack on cymbals with a clean, bright sound, while drums respond with clear, controlled articulation. It's built with jazz in mind, but the clarity works well anytime you want your playing to cut through cleanly.
Made from hickory with a medium taper, the JPH5A balances strength and flex.
Who it's for
A good choice for jazz players and anyone who wants a clearer, more articulate sound than a standard round tip provides.
