Istanbul Mehmet Legend Dark Hi-Hats

Product Description

The Istanbul Legend Dark Hihat is a hand-crafted hi-hat from Istanbul Mehmet's Jazz Line, made in Turkey using traditional cymbal-making methods. The bottom cymbal has a traditional lathing that gives fewer overtones, a dark tone, and a more defined stick attack. Available in 13", 14", and 15".

Istanbul Mehmet has made cymbals the traditional way since the 1800s, and Turkish cymbal makers have supplied drummers worldwide with high-quality cymbals since then. The Legend Dark Series continues that tradition, with a bottom lathing that gives the hi-hat a darker, more controlled sound compared to a fully unlathed surface.

Sound and Feel

The traditional lathing on the bottom cymbal reduces overtones, resulting in a darker tone where the stick attack cuts through more clearly. This makes the hi-hat easier to play with dynamic control, offering a clear attack even within a dark, full sound.

Choosing a Size

The Legend Dark Hihat is available in three sizes: 13", 14", and 15". All sizes share the same construction and tonal character from the Legend Dark Series, so the choice comes down to which size suits your playing and setup best.

Who It's For

A hi-hat for players working in jazz or other settings where a dark, controlled tone with a defined attack matters, and who want a hand-crafted instrument from a legendary Turkish cymbal brand.
