Istanbul Mehmet Cristobal Orozco Stack – Signature Clap Stack in B20 Bronze

The Istanbul Mehmet Cristobal Orozco Stack is the product of a close collaboration between Chilean drummer, producer and drum technician Cristobal Orozco and the legendary Turkish craftsmanship of Istanbul Mehmet. The set consists of three hand-hammered cymbals – a 12″ Crash, a 14″ Crash and a 16″ Dark Crash – that combine to produce a compressed, trashy clap sound with short transients and sharp attack. Each cymbal can also be played individually or in any combination, offering remarkable versatility for experimental and contemporary drumming.

Born from Real Studio and Stage Experience

Cristobal Orozco has spent years working as a session drummer, producer and drum technician across a wide range of styles – from jazz and rock to funk, Latin and progressive music. That depth of experience and a finely tuned ear for the unusual shapes every aspect of this stack. The result is a signature sound that is experimental and modern, loud and dry, with a directness that sits perfectly in dense mixes without cluttering the sound.

Hand-Hammered B20 Bronze from Istanbul

Like all Istanbul Mehmet cymbals, this stack is crafted by hand in Istanbul using B20 bronze – an alloy with centuries of history in Turkish cymbal making. The hand-chased surface gives each cymbal its own unique character and contributes to the dry, focused sound that defines the stack. The natural finish preserves the organic warmth of the bronze while giving the cymbals a raw, honest visual identity to match the sound.

Maximum Versatility, One Set

The three cymbals are designed to work together as a stack or independently, giving you the freedom to experiment freely. Use the 12″ as a sharp accent, the 14″ as a mid-sized effect, and the 16″ Dark Crash as a broader, darker presence – or stack all three for the signature short, punchy clap that gives this set its name.
