The Istanbul Mehmet 21" 61st Anniversary Vintage Ride is a hand-crafted ride cymbal from the Heritage line, marking six decades of cymbal making by master craftsman Mehmet Tamdeger. It's built for drummers who want a dark, complex ride with a smooth, controlled bell.

Mehmet Tamdeger began his craft at the age of nine, working under Mikael Zilcan, grandson of Kerope Zilcan, and learning every aspect of the trade from Mikael Zilcan and Kirkor Kucukyan. It's a tradition of Turkish cymbal making that stretches back to the early 17th century. After more than 60 years at the anvil, Tamdeger and his team continue to hand-make original, traditional Turkish cymbals for today's drummers.

Sound Character

This 21" ride has a small, very smooth bell bridge, giving it dark and limited overtones rather than a bright, ringing wash. Stick definition comes through with a distinct, woody character, so your ride pattern stays clear even as the cymbal builds complexity underneath.
