21" Istanbul Mehmet 61st Anniversary Classic Ride Cymbal
21″ ride cymbal, Istanbul Mehmet 61st Anniversary Classic, with dark tone and clear, woody stick definition.
Product Description
A 21″ ride cymbal from Istanbul Mehmet's 61st Anniversary Classic series, made using traditional Turkish craftsmanship. The sound is dark with limited overtones, the bell bridge small and very smooth, and stick definition clear and woody. A classic, controlled ride for players who want a darker voice.
Mehmet Tamdeger began working for Mikael Zilcan, grandson of Kerope Zilcan, at the age of nine, and was taught every aspect of this ancient Turkish art by Mikael Zilcan and Kirkor Kucukyan. A craft with roots stretching back to the early 17th century. After more than 60 years in the trade, cymbals in this series are still made using the same traditional methods for today's musicians.
Sound and Feel
The bell bridge is small and very smooth, giving a dark sound with limited overtones. Stick definition is clear and described as woody. A distinct, controlled attack rather than a bright, sizzling one.
