20" Istanbul Mehmet 61st Anniversary Classic Ride Cymbal

Product Description

The Istanbul Mehmet 61st Anniversary Classic Ride is a 20" ride cymbal with a dark tone, limited overtones and woody stick definition. It features a small, very smooth bell bridge and is hand-crafted in the traditional Turkish style.

This cymbal carries forward Istanbul Mehmet's long tradition of craftsmanship. At the age of nine, Mehmet Tamdeger began working for Mikael Zilcan, grandson of Kerope Zilcan. He was taught every aspect of the craft by Mikael Zilcan and Kirkor Kucukyan, an art with roots stretching back to the early 17th century. After more than 60 years in the trade, these cymbals are still made using the same traditional Turkish methods, for today's modern music.

The small, very smooth bell bridge contributes to the dark tone with limited overtones. At the same time, the stick definition comes through clearly with a woody character. The result is a ride for players who want clarity and control in their ride pattern without the sound becoming too bright or overtone-heavy.
