Construction and Sound
The crack in the body acts as a built-in "attenuator", accelerating the decay of the crash compared to a cymbal without cracks. Despite the cracks, both in the body and the smaller one at the edge, there is no discernible buzz or noise. This sonic character is no accident: Istanbul Mehmet has replicated it through a careful combination of additional hammering and specific lathing.
