Construction and Feel

Speed Cobra builds on what made the pedal series popular in the first place: a long, specially designed footboard (Fast Foot) that makes the pedal easy to drive and adds speed and power to the beater stroke. Its low-friction surface makes slide technique easier, where the foot slides forward on the board ahead of the second stroke in a double. The light chain sprocket (Recessed Setting/Lite Sprocket) contributes to fast response, and the free-rolling Fastball bearings – the same type used in high-performance PC hard drives and ABS brake systems – keep the motion smooth. The Super Spring is progressive: the stroke feels light at the start of the motion, while rebound from the bass drum head is reinforced at full stroke.

What's New on This Model

The update focuses on stability, speed and sound. The Accu-Strike Cobra Beater has a rubber head that gives a focused, punchy attack. Swivel Spring Tight is a movable lower spring mount that keeps the spring aligned with the upper mount for faster, more responsive movement. Two new Hinge Guard blocks increase stability and protect the footboard's bearings, while a wider frame and base plate (Superstabilizer Design) make the whole pedal sturdier. Para-Clamp II Pro is a three-part clamp with protective rubber and generous adjustability that grips the bass drum hoop without damaging it or affecting how the base plate sits on the floor. The pedal also comes in a new case with stronger locking.
