Feel

The footboard is longer than on a standard pedal, giving room for heel-toe technique, and its lower-friction surface lets your foot glide forward easily for slide technique on fast double strokes. The chain wheel is round and designed to make the pedal feel naturally responsive – hyper-fast, yet still powerful. Tama has optimised weight throughout the pedal, and the chain wheel itself is 40% lighter than the equivalent wheel on the Iron Cobra.

Construction

The Speed Cobra family's Super Spring is progressive: the stroke feels light at the start, while the rebound from the bass drum head is reinforced at full stroke. On the HP310LW you can adjust both spring tension and beater angle to suit your playing style. The bass drum beater is reversible, with felt on one side and plastic on the other, letting you vary the attack without swapping beaters.

Who It's For
