Hot Rods are the original of their kind – Pro-Mark's answer for drummers who play too loud with sticks but find brushes too soft. Built from thin birch dowels bundled together on a birch handle, they sit in between sticks and brushes, giving you a controlled volume with real attack and rebound.

The concept is simple but effective: several thin wood rods bundled together produce a sound between the sharp attack of a stick and the soft sweep of a brush. That makes Hot Rods a solid choice at lower volumes – practicing at home, acoustic gigs, or songs where kick and snare would otherwise overpower the rest of the band.

Construction

The rods are made from high-quality birch, with a wood tip. The handle is also birch, giving a stable, stick-like feel in the hand. Diameter is .560" and length is 16".

Great for drummers who want to bring the volume down without losing the feel of a real stick attack – think acoustic sets, small rooms, or gigs where the kick and snare need to sit back in the mix. Available in four different models/thicknesses, so you can dial in exactly how much attack and volume you want.
