The Meinl Headliner African Djembe is a hand-carved djembe made from solid mahogany with a goat skin head, carved from one solid piece of wood. It delivers a rich, warm tone with a deep bass and sharp slap. Great for drum circles, practice at home, or as a first djembe.

Construction and Materials

The shell is carved from a single piece of mahogany wood (Swietenia macrophylla), giving the drum an even, resonant tone throughout its body. The head is made from goat skin, chosen for its natural flexibility and warm tonal character. The ropes are pre-stretched PP nylon, 4 mm thick, with 18 rope runners that keep the head tensioned and allow for retuning over time.
