Product Description
The Headliner African Djembe from the Artifact Series is a 12" djembe carved from solid mahogany, finished with an aged natural wood look and a hand carved motif that gives it a relic-like character right out of the box. It's fitted with a hand selected goat skin head, held by the traditional Mali-weave tuning system.
The shell is carved from one solid piece of plantation grown Mahogany wood (Swietenia macrophylla). The hand carvings are painted black to accentuate the design against the rustic mahogany surface, giving each drum a distinctive, handmade look.
Construction and Tuning
The head is hand selected goat skin, secured using the traditional Mali-weave tuning system with runners of pre-stretched nylon PP rope, letting you adjust the tension and tone yourself, just as on traditional djembes.
