Will this case fit my drum?

The stated size of a case isn't the size of the case itself, it's the drum size that fits inside it. If you have a 12" tom, choose a 12" case, there's already room built in for lugs and hoops. If your toms have large suspension mounts, it can be a good idea to size up one case size on 8"-13" drums, so the mount isn't put under strain. The same applies to depth: it's the drum's measurement that's stated, not the case's.

How do I know my drum's size?

A drum's size refers to the shell measurement, not the hoops and lugs mounted on top. If you're unsure, remove a head and measure the shell's outer diameter and depth. A drum with a 13" diameter and 10" deep shell is called a 13"x10" drum, even though it's physically larger once hoops and hardware are fitted.
