The NINO585 is a classic hand castanet made from rubberwood, shaped to sit comfortably in the hand and built to withstand everyday use. It's part of the NINO® Percussion range, developed specifically for children and early music education, from preschool through primary school.

The castanet has a sturdy, fun, hand-shaped design that makes it easy to grip even for smaller hands. It's made from rubberwood (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.), a durable material that holds up well to regular handling in classroom or play settings.

A real instrument, not a toy

Although NINO® Percussion is designed with children in mind, these are not toy instruments. The range is designed in Germany with a focus on safety, durability and, above all, musical quality — the main difference from equivalent adult instruments lies in colour and shape, not in function or sound.

Who It's For

A good choice for preschools, music schools and home use where children from age 3 are getting their first hands-on experience with rhythm and sound. Works well both for independent exploration and teacher-led group music-making.
