Construction and sound

The maple/gum wood shell gives the drum a tight, focused core tone with plenty of low end, while the 30° bearing edges contribute to an open, responsive attack. The shell interior is treated with Silver Sealer for a smooth, moisture-resistant finish inside the shell. The die-cast hoops help hold tuning stable and add a firm, defined tone.

Hardware and details

The 20-strand snare wires provide a clear, controlled snare buzz, and the Lightning throw-off makes it quick to engage and disengage the wires during play. A snap-in key holder is conveniently mounted on the shell, keeping the drum key close at hand. The drum ships with Remo heads fitted from the factory and comes in a Satin Natural, lacquered finish.

Who it's for

The USA Custom suits players who want an American-made snare with classic Gretsch character. Warm, focused and dependable in both rehearsal and studio settings.
