The Gretsch Renown Maple shell pack in Silver Oyster Pearl is a complete maple drum set built for players who want a warm, full-bodied tone with clear attack. The shells are built from 7-ply maple with a 30° bearing edge, giving good resonance and a balanced tonal range. It works equally well as the foundation for a build-your-own kit or as an upgrade to maple shells and thoughtful hardware.

The set includes four shells: toms in 10" x 7" and 12" x 8", a floor tom in 14" x 14", and a bass drum in 20" x 16". The internal Silver Sealer coating protects the wood and helps produce an open, projecting tone, while the chrome-plated 302 steel hoop keeps tuning stable over time. The Low Profile mounting system is designed to let the shell vibrate as freely as possible, which shows up as extra resonance and sustain in the toms. The bass drum uses round Gretsch tom brackets.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want to build your own kit with your choice of cymbals and snare, or if you're upgrading from an entry-level set to maple shells with well thought-out hardware. A double tom holder is included, so you can mount both toms directly on the bass drum. Note that cymbals are not included.
