Construction and Sound

The 7-ply maple shell is a classic Gretsch build, giving a warm yet clearly defined tone with good attack. The Silver Sealer inner coating is the same finish Gretsch has used for decades and contributes to the shells' characteristic resonance. The 30° bearing edge is a Gretsch signature and gives the drums their open, projecting sound.

Hardware and Mounting

The set uses Gretsch 302 steel hoops and chrome hardware throughout. The tom is mounted using Gretsch's Low Profile system, which keeps the shell free from unnecessary contact points and preserves more of the drum's natural resonance. The bass drum has round Gretsch tom brackets for mounting the rack tom. A single tom holder is included.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want to build your own kit from the ground up, choosing your own cymbals and snare, while keeping Gretsch's classic maple tone at the core.
