16" ProMark FireGrain Classic 747W

Product Description

The FireGrain Classic 747W is a pair of drumsticks made from heat-tempered hickory by ProMark, 16" long with a .551" diameter and an oval tip. The tempering process gives the sticks a more solid sound with a clearer attack and improved durability, without changing their original weight or balance.

FireGrain™ is ProMark's own heat-treatment process, where hickory is tempered using open flame. The result is a stick that lasts longer and delivers a clearer attack on impact, while keeping the original weight and balance intact. Despite the harder hickory, the sticks retain their natural feel in the hand, without unwanted vibration.

Manufacturing and Quality

ProMark owns its own sawmill, giving them full control over the entire process, from selecting hickory trees to the finished stick. The best pieces are sorted out already at the sawmill based on the wood's properties and sent on to the factory for finishing. This results in a high and consistent quality across every pair.

The sticks are pitch-matched to a market-leading tolerance of max 6 Hz, roughly a 0.25 semitone difference between the sticks in a pair, which is crucial for even-sounding rolls. Pairs are also weight-matched to a tolerance of max 1.5 grams between sticks.

Environmental Commitment

Under the motto "Play. Plant. Preserve.", ProMark plants five new trees for every tree felled for stick production.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a classic 7A stick that lasts longer than standard hickory without sacrificing playing feel. Works especially well for players who already like the balance of the Classic series but want extra durability for rehearsal or stage use.
