Meinl Tingsha Ashtamangala
Product Description
The Tingsha Ashtamangala from Meinl is a classical Tibetan finger cymbal made of two metal plates joined at either end of a cord. A gentle collision between the plates produces a clear bell tone used for meditation and for releasing blockages in a vibration field.
The Meinl Tingsha stays true to the classical Tibetan cymbal design. This instrument consists of two metal plates at either end of a cord, and bringing the bell tone to play only requires gently colliding the cymbals. The peculiarity of this instrument is the interval between the two cymbals, which is one octave higher than the brain's alpha state. Listening to the overtones each cymbal shares and to the leap between the two tones makes it easier to get into meditation. Tingshas are also traditionally used to release blockages in a person's vibration field as well as in an environment.
