Extended Play Power 5B - Nylon

Product Description

The Vater Extended Play Power 5B is a hickory drumstick with a nylon tip, built for players who break sticks from rimshots and want significantly longer life without giving up feel. The series is the result of 14 months of development, combining a protective coating with a built-in reinforcement in the middle of the stick.

The upper part of the stick has a pearl-colored, specially developed coating that protects against wear and cracking. In the middle of the stick sits Vater's Stick Shield, a 3" long reinforcement made from a material 8 times stronger than steel. It's placed exactly where rimshots normally wear down and break sticks, and Vater guarantees the stick won't break in the protected area.

Same feel, longer life

The back of the stick has the same wood finish found on all Vater sticks, and balance and feel match the standard hickory models. The difference shows up once normal wear would have set in. Extended Play simply lasts longer without feeling different in the hand.

Who It's For

A good choice if you play a lot of rimshots and have previously worn out or broken sticks in that exact spot, and want a stick that lasts longer without changing your playing style.
