Epic Metal

Product Description

Epic Metal is a MIDI pack for EZkeys featuring piano and keyboard performances inspired by everything from classic heavy metal to progressive, symphonic and black metal. It gives you ready-made musical building blocks, from haunting intros to repeating ostinatos, that you can use directly or build on in your own tracks.

Keyboards are a huge part of metal as a whole, whether used to add air, atmosphere and narrative or as a leading instrument doubling the guitars at the forefront of the mix. Epic Metal collects a wealth of such ideas across approximately 200 individual MIDI files, performed by a professional session player.

• Piano/keyboard MIDI inspired by a wealth of keyboard-centric metal styles
• Approx. 200 individual files performed by a professional session player
• Each "song" organized into Intros, Pad Progressions, Themes, Ostinatos and Outros sections
• 4/4 and 7/4 playing variations in straight and/or swing feel
• Tempos ranging from 102 to 176 BPM

Structure

Each included "song" is organized into clearly labeled sections. Intros and Outros offer dramatic, haunting or doom-laden parts to kick off or round off a song. Pad Progressions give you chord progressions to use as pads, Themes give riff-like melodic themes, and Ostinatos give repeating melodic figures you can add your own basslines or chords behind.

Who It's For

A good fit if you write or produce metal in any of its forms and want inspiring, ready-made keyboard ideas to build from, or complete performances to customize onto already-written tracks. Works with EZkeys and can be combined with the manufacturer's EKX sound expansions for different tones.
