Eighties Pop Grooves

Product Description

Eighties Pop Grooves is a MIDI pack from Toontrack featuring drum grooves and fills inspired by ’80s pop songs and the era's iconic session drummers. The pack gives you more than 500 individually played MIDI files to build your drum tracks around, capturing that distinct blend of machine-like precision and human feel that defined the decade.

Pop drums in the eighties were somewhat a marriage between two eras. At one end of the scale, drum machines and monotonous beats were forcing their way into the sound of the time, while on the other side, groove, feel and timing were more important than ever. Amid all this was the traditional drummer, caught between technology and tradition. Producers introduced click-tracks on a larger scale, asking drummers to play with machine-like precision, while session drummers like John Robinson, Ricky Lawson, Phil Collins, Manu Katché, Jonathan Moffet, Jeff Porcaro, Kenny Aronoff and Stewart Copeland rose to iconic fame. This collection explores that rich era, with sturdy beats full of feel and timeless session drummer magic that falls into any track with seamless precision.

• Intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge and fills sections
