Drumology EZX is a sound expansion for EZdrummer and Superior Drummer 3 featuring four complete drum kits, handpicked by session drummer Jeremy Stacy from his own collection. Each kit represents a decade. The 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Capturing that era's characteristic drum sound, from tight and muffled to open and stadium-big.

Four eras, four sound worlds

Session drummer Jeremy Stacy has built his career behind the kit for artists like Sheryl Crow, Robbie Williams, Sia, Ryan Adams and Neil Diamond. For this expansion, he handpicked four kits from his own collection, one per decade from the 1960s through the 1990s. Together they span the warm, round and subtle tone of the 1960s, the open, fusion-tinged sound of the 1970s, the bombastic, stadium-big approach of the 1980s and the raw, gritty, hard-hitting edge of the 1990s.

Recorded in a period-accurate setting

The recording took place at Livingston Studios in London together with Jeremy Stacy's brother Paul Stacy, an engineer and producer with credits including Oasis and The Black Crowes. The room was chosen for its transparent drum recording qualities, and to further underscore each kit's character the brothers used period gear and era-specific mic placements, giving every kit a treatment tailored to its time.

Grooves, presets and MIDI

Beyond the four kits, the expansion includes a collection of grooves for each kit as well as a broad palette of mix-ready presets showcasing different approaches for each era. Presets can be used directly for a mix-ready sound, or tailored in detail using the macros. A basic collection of MIDI played by Jeremy Stacy is also included.
