Drum Riffs MIDI

Product Description

Drum Riffs MIDI is a MIDI pack from Toontrack, performed by Matt Halpern, drummer of Periphery. The pack focuses on modern metal grooves built around bass drum patterns and synchronized guitar and drum work, giving you ready-made riff ideas to build songs around. More than 400 individually played files are included.

A lot of modern metal is based around bass drum patterns and synchronized guitar and drum work, and that's exactly what this pack delivers. Halpern has, in just a few years, gone from relatively unknown to being "the talk of drum town", as Modern Drummer put it. Here you get his approach to polyrhythmic and "Djent" drumming, taken to a new level of sophistication.

Content and structure

The material is organized in songs, each containing approximately 15 grooves and 15 fills. In total, more than 400 individually played MIDI files are included, making this a rich library of riff ideas rather than a handful of generic loops.

Compatibility

Works with EZdrummer, EZdrummer 2, Superior Drummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3. The MIDI tracks are optimized for a kit with 1 kick, 1 snare, 2 toms, 1 floor tom, 2 or 3 crash cymbals, 1 china and 1 ride cymbal. A typical modern metal setup.

Who It's For

A great fit if you produce or program metal and want convincing, tightly played grooves with a djent feel, without having to program the polyrhythms from scratch yourself.
