Product Description
The Toca TODJ-10AM is a traditional djembe hand-carved from a single piece of environmentally-friendly plantation grown mahogany. It's rope-tuned and fitted with a natural skin head, making it a great choice for players who want an authentic, handcrafted percussion instrument with a warm, clear tone.
Construction
The shell is lathe turned for uniform thickness all the way around, giving the drum a stable, consistent sound no matter where you strike it. The bowl interior features lathe grooves and rough-surfaced carvings designed to eliminate overtones, giving the drum a clearer, more defined attack.
Material and finish
The drum is carved from a single piece of plantation grown mahogany, a more sustainable choice than djembes built from multiple joined pieces.
