Product Description
The Toca Freestyle Rope Tuned Kente Cloth is a rope-tuned djembe with a synthetic shell and goat skin head, 9" in diameter and 16.5" (42 cm) tall. Its low-stretch Alpine rope with braided cores ensures stable tuning while delivering a rich bass tone and sharp, piercing rim tones.
Rope tuning is the traditional way to tune a djembe, giving you full control without tools. The braided cores in the rope hold tuning better over time than simpler rope constructions, while still producing the warm bass and cutting rim tones djembes are known for.
Sound and Construction
The richest bass tone in this series is especially noticeable in the larger 10" and 12" sizes, but the 9" model still delivers a clear, full low end thanks to the rope construction. The rim tones are sharp and piercing, making the drum easy to articulate in both rhythmic playing and solo work.
