Toca Freestyle Rope Tuned African Sunset 9" - African Sunset

Product Description

The Freestyle Rope Tuned African Sunset is a rope-tuned djembe from Toca, 9" in diameter and 42 cm (16.5") tall. Low stretch Alpine rope with braided cores keeps the tuning stable while delivering a rich bass tone and sharp, piercing rim tones.

Rope tuning lets you fine-tune the pitch by hand without extra tools, and the braided-core rope construction is designed to keep tension even from strike to strike. The bass tone is especially rich on the larger sizes in the series (10" and 12"), but the 9" model still delivers clear, piercing rim tones alongside a warm low end.

Sound and Feel

The combination of stable rope tuning and a shell built for resonance means the djembe responds quickly to both open strikes and rim tones, giving you control over dynamics whether you play softly or with power.

Who It's For

A solid choice if you want a djembe that holds its tuning over time without constant re-tightening, whether for practice, rehearsal space, or smaller gigs where reliable tuning matters.
