The CY-8 is Roland's 12-inch dual-trigger cymbal pad, combining crash and ride triggering in a single pad. It offers a refined feel closer to an acoustic cymbal, complete with swinging motion and cymbal choke capability. It's designed to work with V-Drums modules such as the TD-3 and TD-6V.
With dual-zone triggering, the CY-8 lets you get both crash and ride sounds from one pad, which is handy if you want to keep your electronic kit compact without losing the flexibility of an acoustic setup. The swinging motion makes the pad move naturally as you play, and the cymbal choke function lets you mute the sound by grabbing the pad, just like on a real crash or ride.
