Product Description
The Contemporanea Surdo, 18" x 50 cm, is a samba drum with an aluminum shell and plastic head, built to be lighter and easier to carry than a standard model. It delivers a big, distinct sound that cuts through a samba lineup without weighing you down over a long set. A tuning key is included.
The aluminum shell makes this surdo noticeably lighter than a wood or deeper metal model, which is easy to feel when the drum is worn for an extended stretch of playing. Being shallower than standard models doesn't take anything away from the big, distinct sound a surdo should have, but it does make the drum easier to handle on the move.
Who It's For
A good choice if you play samba in a procession or on stage and want a surdo that's easy to carry without sacrificing volume and projection.
