Repinique 10"
10" aluminium repinique with a piercing, dynamic tone for carnival and batucada.
Product Description
The Contemporanea Repinique 10" is a strong, lightweight aluminium samba drum built to cut through a full batucada ensemble. Its high, pervasive sound makes it the lead voice of the group. Together with the apito whistle, the repinique is used to signal calls, rhythms and tempo to the rest of the players.
- Strong, lightweight aluminium shell
- Tunable threaded steel rods and steel rings
- Robust, tunable nylon heads
- 6 hooks
The lightweight aluminium shell makes the drum easy to carry through long carnival parades, while the threaded steel rods and steel rings keep the tuning stable throughout the performance. The robust, tunable nylon heads deliver the pervasive, dynamic high sound needed for the repinique's signals to carry over the whole batucada group.
Who It's For
The repinique is the instrument of the solo performer and the musical director. The one calling out rhythms and setting the tempo. Perfect for carnival and batucada.
