Latin percussion Matador 12 1/2" - Natural

Product Description

The Conga Matador Tumba is the largest model in LP's Matador series, featuring a 12 1/2" diameter and a shell built from 3-ply Siam Oak. The head is natural rawhide, giving a deep, warm low end with clear attack that suits both Latin music and broader percussion settings.

Construction

The shell is built from 3-ply Siam Oak, a material chosen for stability and full resonance. The head is natural rawhide, mounted with Matador Soft Strike hoops in the Comfort Curve I profile, a rounded hoop shape that's gentler on the hands during longer playing sessions. Tuning lugs are 5/16", and the side plates are in Matador style, all finished in chrome hardware for a look that holds up over time.

Protection and finish

The drum ships with LP ProCare Shell Protectors, protective rails that reduce the risk of scratches and wear on the shell during transport and storage. The finish is Natural, showing off the wood's own grain.

Who It's For

A great choice for Latin percussionists or anyone looking to complete a conga set with a tumba that delivers a clear low end and full tone.
