Meinl Percussion Artist Series LC1212NT Luis Conte 12 1/2"x30" - Natural (matte)
Handcrafted quinto conga from the Artist Series, developed with Luis Conte. 2-ply rubberwood, Natural matte finish.
Product Description
The Meinl Conga L.Conte LC1212NT is a quinto conga (12 1/2", 30" height) from the Artist Series, developed together with one of the world's most recorded percussionists, Luis Conte. It combines the charm and sound of traditional Cuban congas with construction details from modern instruments.
- 2-ply Rubberwood shell (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.)
- Natural (NT) matte finish
- Black Powder hardware with rubber gaskets for stability
- 5 mm TTR conga hoop
- 8 mm tension rods
- True Skin Buffalo replacement head (TS-B-54)
Construction
The shell is built from two layers of Rubberwood, resulting in an extremely stable and well-built conga. The hardware is finished in Black Powder and fitted with rubber gaskets, keeping the setup firm and quiet even under hard playing. The conga hoop is 5 mm TTR and the tension rods are 8 mm, a rugged combination that holds tuning over time.
Tone and head
The head is a True Skin Buffalo skin (TS-B-54), a natural hide that delivers the warm, full tone associated with traditional Cuban congas.
Who It's For
A great conga if you want to combine traditional sound with modern build quality. Pairs well with the LC11NT and LC1212NT from the same series, and can be complemented with the Meinl Conga Bag MCOB-12 for transport.
