Conga Head Hand Picked Flat Skin 22"

Product Description

A hand-picked conga head (DIY workpiece) in untanned buffalo hide from Latin Percussion, 22" and downward compatible to 14" Super Tumba. Ideal for upgrading an entry-level conga or replacing the head on a conga where original parts are no longer available.

This is a hand-selected, unfinished DIY workpiece in untanned buffalo hide, approximately 1.5 mm thick. It is vendor independent and can be mounted to virtually any shell and rim, regardless of manufacturer.

What's included

The delivery includes only the head itself (workpiece). No metal ring is included. When mounting, you reuse the metal ring from your old head. LP Skin Wires are available separately for LP X and Traditional conga rims and are not included in this delivery.

Mounting

Soak the workpiece together with the old metal ring in warm water for about 8 hours. This makes it easier to remove the metal ring from the old head and gives the new workpiece the consistency it needs to be mounted correctly.

Size and compatibility

The stated size, 22", is downward compatible. The head fits shells up to a 22" crown diameter and can therefore also be used on smaller congas, down to 14" Super Tumba. Because the head is vendor independent, it works on any shell and rim, not just Latin Percussion's own.
