Meinl Percussion Marathon Classic MCC1212NT 12 1/2" - Natural

Product Description

The Meinl Marathon Classic Conga MCC1212NT is a 12½" tumba built with professional dimensions and pro-level hardware, ready for serious conga playing straight out of the box. The shell is built from two layers of rubberwood with a natural finish, and the included Steely II stand makes it quick to set up in the rehearsal room or on stage.

• 2-layer rubberwood shell (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.) for a stable, resonant tone
• 2.6 mm SSR conga hoops for professional durability
• Steely II stand included
• True Skin Buffalo replacement head included
• Conga Saver, tuning key and Tune Up Oil included in delivery

Construction and hardware

The drum stands 30" tall, with a shell built from two layers of natural-finished rubberwood, a construction Meinl chose to give the Marathon series a stable and resonant foundation. The hoops are 2.6 mm SSR steel, contributing to durability under hard, regular playing. The conga ships with a Steely II stand included, so you're ready to play without buying a separate stand.

Head and maintenance

The replacement head used is a True Skin Buffalo head, model TS-B-40, making it easy to re-head the drum when the time comes. The delivery also includes a Conga Saver, a tuning key and Tune Up Oil for head maintenance.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want to expand your conga setup with a serious-quality tumba, or build a complete set together with the MCC11NT and MCC1134NT. If you need to transport the conga safely, Meinl's Conga Bag MCOB-11 or the simpler Conga Gigbag MSTCOB make a good match.
