Meinl Percussion Redwood 12"
Product Description
The Meinl Claves Redwood (CL3RW) is an African-style clave in a larger model, built for a lower and darker pitch than classic claves such as the Meinl CL1RW. The clave is the timekeeping instrument that holds the Latin band together, much like the snare drum does for a drummer.
The resonance clave is larger than on the classic model and is hollowed out inside the wood, giving it a darker and lower tone with plenty of body. Claves are played by striking the two sticks against each other and are used to keep time in genres such as son, salsa and rumba.
Construction
The sticks are made from solid redwood (hardwood), a dense and heavy timber that delivers a solid, clear sound with good projection.
Who It's For
A great choice for percussionists who want a deeper, darker clave tone than standard models. And a staple in Latin American music setups.
