Product Description
The Meinl Claves Redwood (CL2RW) is a classic pair of African-style claves made from solid redwood. They are slightly larger and produce a lower, darker tone than the CL1RW, making them a natural choice for players who want depth and weight in their clave pattern.
The clave is the heartbeat of Latin music, as essential to the Latin band as the snare drum is to the drummer. Meinl's Redwood claves have a solid body, giving them a firm feel in the hand.
Construction
The resonating clave, the one held loosely in the hand and struck by the other, is extra large in this model and hollowed out from the wood. This shaping gives it a darker, lower tone compared to a fully solid resonating clave.
Who It's For
A good choice for percussionists playing Latin American music who want a deeper, rounder clave tone than the standard model offers.
