Meinl Percussion Claves 10"x1 1/3" - Hardwood
Solid hardwood claves (10 x 1 1/3") from Meinl. Larger and lower in pitch than the CL1RW. A staple in Latin percussion.
Product Description
The Meinl Claves Hardwood is a pair of solid, African-style claves measuring 10 x 1 1/3". They are slightly larger and lower in pitch than the CL1RW, giving a fuller, darker fundamental tone.
Claves are the heartbeat of Latin music, as essential to a Latin ensemble as the snare drum is to a drummer. The two sticks are struck together to produce the sharp, dry clicking sound that drives the groove in styles such as son and salsa.
The resonator clave (the stick held loosely in the hand to let it ring) is larger on this model and hollowed out in the wood, giving it a darker and lower tone than a smaller clave. The body is solid throughout.
